Janne E. Nijman, Professor of History and Theory of International Law at the UvA Law School, has been appointed Professor of International law at the Graduate Institute in Geneva. She will combine this part-time appointment with her responsibilities at the University of Amsterdam and the T.M.C. Asser Institute.

The Graduate Institute, established in 1927, is renowned in the field of international law. ‘Its vocation is to analyse and stimulate critical thinking in the fields of international relations and development issues through its teaching (master and PhD programmes), research, executive education and public events.’ Janne has joined the International Law department and will research teach on the history of international legal thought and the role of cities in international law and governance.
