Since 1999, Frank Tros is affiliated to the University of Amsterdam. Frank is senior researcher at AIAS-HSI, an institute for multidisciplinary research and teaching in labour studies at the Law faculty of the University of Amsterdam.
Frank Tros holds a Msc in Sociology (University of Groningen) and a PhD in social sciences (Utrecht University). He was post-doctoral researcher in a co-initiated project, financed by the Netherlands Organisation for scientific research (NWO), studying the relationships between flexibility and security in European labour markets and emergence of 'flexicurity' policy concepts.
Frank Tros has been involved in many research projects in the fields of labour law, social dialogue, employment relations, labour market policies and workers participation. He initiated and coordinated European cross-country studies on 'Intergenerational Bargaining' and 'Decentralised bargaining', and has been researcher in many other projects for the European Commission. Frank Tros was coordinator in the Dutch study on Modernisering medezeggenschap.

Frank Tros is boardmember of the Stichting Nederlandse ArbeidsmarktDag, a two-yearly conference which aims to bridge the worlds of academic research and policymaking in the field of labour in the Netherlands.
